In this episode C.L. talks about two of her favorite self-seeding annuals: red poppies and a multi-colored flowering tobacco. Next we seek to reassure those who worry that the plant problem they see (insect or disease) might spread to all the other plants in their yard. Ellen and C.L. discuss combining random acts of kindness with random acts of gardening, and answer a listeners email.
Where can I get those nicotianas I often here you raving about? I have been looking for a couple of years and haven’t found them!

CL, I bought a Nepeta at a recent plant sale. It was marked Nepeta but is different from most nepetas that I am familiar with because it has broad green leaves as opposed to the small catmint leaves. Would you I’d this plant.

Pat – it could be a Nepeta ‘Gateway’ – which is a large-leaf, large growing variety that the bees love.
