Pesto, Stinkhorn Fungs, & Watering Containers
Did you know that pesto can be made of many greens from the garden? Basil and olive oil are the perfect base ingredients, but beyond those classics you can include chard, arugula, garlic mustard, boc choi, or any of the mustard greens…to name just a few. Add nuts if you wish, or a bit of cream. Blend it all in the food processor and freeze it in patties.
Ellen and C.L. also discuss the malodorous but always amusing stinkhorn fungi…”they’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky…”
In our main segment, Eat, Drink, Grow we are growing on with talk about watering containers. All of this and the answer to an email in this early September episode.
I am inspired to make for dinner this evening; pesto from Thai basil plus their flowers, pecans , olive oil and Parmasean over pasta!
Quite informative. I listened as i was preparing a bread and butter pickle batch!
Thanks Ellen!
Thanks for listening, Gary. And may I say I’m impressed that you’re pickling. Michael wouldn’t know where to start.
